LINC is an international exchange program designed to facilitate global outreach to records and information management (RIM) and archival practitioners outside of North America.
Meet OCARMA's LINC Member
We are proud to sponsor Mr. David Mukembo from Uganda. He holds a Diploma in Library and Information Sciences from Makerere University and a Bachelors degree in Library and Information Science from the same university. He has also attended several short courses in records management and other related disciplines by the Ministry of Public Service and Management Training and Advisory Centre. He is applying for scholarships so that he may continue to pursue his Masters degree in London.
He has a working experience of 13 years in records and information management. He has worked in government ministries, NGO's and higher institutions of learning as a records manager. Besides that, he has assisted many organizations and individuals in establishing records systems and libraries.
He started his carrier as a records assistant in 1989 in the Ministry of Labor, he was transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Police headquarters) in 1990, were he worked until 1992. In 1993, He joined the Family Planning Association of Uganda as a registry assistant on a contract of one year. In 1994, he was appointed as a records assistant by Action for Development (ACFODE) on a five year contract.
Presently, he is teaching records management at Makerere University.
David is married and has two daughters and three sons (the youngest are twin boys).
